Progress Continues ...

Well, things continue to move along. This past week, the invitations with RSVP and church, reception and hotel information has been completed, THANK YOU to the encouragement and help and computer from Francisco Azula and his amazing family! And Alberto has made a big dent in addressing the envelopes. They look beautiful.

Unfortunately, there is a mistake on the hotel information ... but it will be corrected and once that is done, the invites go OUT! I am shooting for Monday/Tuesday.

The interviews began. If you want to participate in helping create a little video to be played at the party, let me know. Andy and Sharon will be editing it. The questions are: What is your fondest memory of Alfredo and Alicia, what impact have they had on your life, what is the most annoying thing about them, what is the most endearing thing about them and share a funny story about them.

I am going to Atlanta this weekend and will spend much of Monday working on the preparations! Keep me in your prayers!

Saint Michael the Archangel is ON!

The plans are continuing at a good pace! It has been confirmed that BOTH mom and dad prefer to renew their vows at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Woodstock, Georgia, at the 5:30PM Saturday evening vigil mass.

Father Larry said YES! And he and his secretary, Deb, are very excited about having a Golden Anniversary wedding vow renewal at their church. They organize a trip to EWTN every year so they are happy that now they have a special grateful friend in Birmingham (me!) to give them an inside tour next time they come visit.

The wedding invitations are beautiful and I am printing tonight. I fly out to Orlando tomorrow with the invites in hand so that Uncle Alberto can hand address them with his classical beautiful script handwriting.

I plan to be in Canton on Monday, August 11th to continue with all the preparations!

Thank you St. Michael the Archangel for your help and direction in this! Defend us in battle.

When, Where, What

This is a surprise party ... so keep it a secret. Dad and Mom want to renew their wedding vows. At this point, it will either be at the 5PM mass at Our Lady of LaSalette in Canton or at the 5:30PM mass at St. Michael the Archangel in Woodstock. I hope to find out tomorrow if the wedding renewal vows can be done in Woodstock, which is where Dad prefers.

It turns out that mom and dad WANT to go on a pilgrimage with lots of relatives and friends for their anniversary. They do NOT want to go by themselves. So the more the merrier. If you are interested in going, please let me know so I can send you the information. This is a SURPRISE so do NOT tell them about it.

The party will be at Leon and Cristina Stafford's home in Canton. The food will most likely be prepared by Chef Ryan. We are working on the menu right now. We have ordered the wedding cake with strawberry filling.

The hotels have been contacted and we have three choices for reservations. I will be posting the information here. I am STILL working on the invitations. I hope to send them out soon.
